I heard that setup at a HE show a few years ago, driven by top-of-the-line BAT amplification... admittedly not the optimum environment in a hotel meeting room even with treatments, but honestly, for the size and expense, I was underwhelmed.
Coincidentally, I heard a specific source – a superb vinyl of a 50s Louis Armstrong performance that was apparently making the rounds – played back with much better effect on a couple other systems at that show... especially good were Joseph Audio speakers.
But that's just one imperfect audition experience... presumably the Avantgarde's can sound fine in an appropriate room..

Without music to decorate it, time is just a bunch of boring
production deadlines or dates by which bills must be paid.

Kobus, if you think that our systems are quite expensive ... see what these cost:
Trio Compact with 6 x Basshorns - £68,000 (that's about ZAR 950 000)

by Chris DFound this interesting. As you likely know, our hearing degrades over time, starting with the higher frequencies. People have actually come up with annoying tones to get younger people to leave areas where they are not wanted.
Here's one test.

by Opus007Last night I moved my speakers a little farther out from center and then did a recalibration with my spl meter.I had the test tone at 85 db with volume at 92 db(very loud).I accidentally hit the wrong button on the remote and had switched the preamp back to the source which was a music dvd (which was...-
