I know that many people say that bi-wiring makes no difference, but I tried it and heard an improvement, even though I don't hear a lot of other tweaks that people sometimes rave about. I have KEF Q7's, powered by a Denon 3805. One thing you might try is to buy some inexpensive speaker wire (e.g., 10 or 12 gauge electrical cord from Home Depot or the hardware store) and compare bi-wire versus single wire with your own equipment. You won't be out that much if you hear no difference.

        Yes! (maybe)

June, do a search rather than start a new battle. You will find the subject is flamable with many different good opinions besides Kal's and mine.

Sparky's right, search out previous threads, no need to start another battle.

One of the values in Bi-wiring that the "Cable Crazy" camp promotes is that by mixing two different cable types you can better taylor / emphasize the freq extremes.

Some people swear by it, let YOUR ears be the judge.

            IMO, no.

I have 100v2 and tried bi-wiring with same cables for low and mid/hi and different cables for low and mid/hi. I noted no difference in either case vs conventional single-cable wiring.
There are some things which are impossible to know, but it is impossible to know which things these are. :scratchhead:

              Thanks All,

I'll keep doing what I do.

                Biwiring and Sub Crossover
                by Russ L
I run the speaker wires for my bookshelf speakers through my sub. The crossover is set for 150Hz so the sub handles the lower bass. My question is: If I want to biwire my B&W bookshelfs can I just run the biwire from the sub to the bookshelfs or do I have to run the biwire between the amp and sub...

                Bi wire question
                by amdan
My speakers are a pair of 802N. They are biwireable.

I tried out a pair of Harmonic Tech Pro 9 speaker cables (mono wire) in my system and was impressed at the improvement. Harmonic Tech make a biwire version (which they tell me is superior to the mono version).

                I can...

                Bi wire experiences

This is not so much a cable post as a hook up post, although I am sure the mods will make the call.

I've run 804s for about 4 or 5 years now and probably will keep them for a while yet. A friend commented recently that I have the most tweaked system he has seen and it certainly is right...

Biwiring Your B&W's - worth it?
                by Karma
                HI All,
I'm just curious how many of us have biwired our systems. Those who have done so, what are your conclusions?

My system, with 805S's and HTM4S in the front are biwired. These are only the second set of speakers I have owned that permit biwiring. The first were Apogee Calipers...

Is there a measured benefit to biwiring?
                by Jesse111
I biwire because it just seems more efficient but in a blind test I don't think I'd be able to tell the difference. I will continue to do it if for no other reason than for the additonal gauge "benefit" and it's just good fun. But I also don't use extrememly expensive cables and they are also...
