Does anyone here have any thoughts or expierience with this unit from Classe? CD/DVD-1. I am looking for something like this to replace my Rotel unit, hoping to upgrade a bit.

Go forward not backward when it comes to digital
The Classe cd\dvd1 was a great unit several years ago..
Since digital technologies are changing so fast with better
D/A converters, new processing chips, HDMI, I,m not sure buying
and older player would be the best idea...
e.g. Oppodigital is making amazing players for 200.00 or less..

Thanks for the suggestions, I went the Oppo route and found it lacking in the Audio department for me. I was intrigued by the fact that the CD/DVD1 was more of an upgraded version of the Classe CDP 1.5, which was a great 2 channel player, with the added benefit of DVD playback. My current Video setup does not require HDMI or 1080 proccessing, I am several years behind in my system as it is, so on my budget the latest offereing from Classe is way beyond my reach.Robert P. 8)

I have been looking around at a couple of multi-channel amplifers for my HT that also doubles as my 2 Channel area. With the budget that I set for myself, I can either purchase a new Rotel RMB1095 or a pre-owned older model Classe unit.

At first I thought it was my PureAV Conditioner that was the problem. I called tech support as to why my switched outlets werent working and also that my Classe was shutting sound down every couple hours for the past 2 days.
