Having video with dvd audio aswell is over the top. Dvd audio it self can reach about 10mbits of audio bit rate to include video aswell it would take up massive amounts of capacity you would get something like 45 mins of viewing per disc, not sure but roughly. This is where hd-dvd and blu ray take over.

I have DVD-A that has also DVD-Video on it, but only 5 songs maximum so, YES, you can have both on one CD ,but the amount of Video is limited like DL86 said.
        Does that answer your question?
        Cheers

There are but the video is, at least I think, always in DTS/DD.

I've heard one of Diana Krall's DVD-A's was explained to me that it is video but with a lossless sound track. Not sure if you can do that or not but its what I've heard.

I have several DVD-A's with video on them, REM's Around The Sun, Porcupine Tree's offerings, Linkin Park, etc, but again its all DTS/DD.

Regular DVD is 48khz,16bit. DTS has an optional format that's 96khz, 24 bit on regular DVD's.

DVDA has up to 192khz, 24 bit in stereo, 96khz, 24bit in surround.

Yes, there are DVD-A's that also have video on them. However, AFAIK, there is NO video that uses the DVD-A audio format for its audio stream.

It's probably an issue of licensing, but I wholeheartedly think that yes, video should use high-res audio as a format. Similarly, music albums should be encoded in the highest-res audio out there. So as a corollary, hopefully we start seeing music albums recorded in DTS-HD, DD+, Dolby TrueHD, and other new high-res audio formats on BD and HD-DVD.

Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.

                    Hi,

Im sending a PAL s-video signal into the 1098 and from there I have connected the projector on the component out (the 1098 is set as PAL in the menu aswell) but the picture that comes out on the projector is black and white. But if I connect the s-video cable directly to the projector...

                    DVDA/SACD Connections to 1066
                    by Mike Hayes
I am considering purchasing a Pioneer 563A ($180) universal player to replace my Toshiba SD5700. I am currently using just the digital connection (not using the 5 analog cables for DVDA). This will be my first experience with DVDA/SACD in conjunction with my 1066 so please bear with me.

Help on setting up for DVDA
                    by Danbry39
Just bought my first DVDA, Vivaldi's Four Seasons, and need to know how to set up the Rotel 1066. Denon 1600 DVD player to output DVDA. Right now, I've placed the disc in the 1600 and sound seems to come out of all speakers after I pushed the Multi Imput button on the Rotel's front panel. The display...

Just to let you know, Mike at Rotel definately knows about the DVDA problem that reverts the 1060 to SCART mode, and they have an update. I know some people got the update, while others were getting the run-around..

They were pretty serious about saying you could really mess up your...

                    RDV1060 DVDA Problem
                    by fordster
I've had my RDV1060 for a few weeks now and finally got round to buying a DVD Audio (Under Rug Swept - Alanis Morrisette). When I insert the disc the player picks up that it is a DVDA and shows 96-24MLP on the display. However, that's about all that happens beyond a bit of clicking. The timer eventually...
