Has anyone heard this speaker? I will have a chance to hear it from my dealer next week when stop by. I know it's an old model, but the price is good, and I can get a proper audition there. I tried to hear the newer models at some other dealers in my area, but there setup's were horrible. I also didn't like their attitude, one track and they're looking for your card.

Greg, Come on over to www.Martinloganowners.com and the owners can give their insight. I own Vantage's but have listened to the Aeon i's and feel they are a very good speaker, revealing and critical as to one upstream components , as most Planars and electrostatics are !Dave

Greglett, you will not be dissappointed, I believe this is the same model that a friend of mine has (he also uses the Shanling T80 which he loves). They are a very very impressive sounding speaker.
I spent an afternoon listening to them a few weeks back. Amazing detail, clean sound and big soundstage (I did find the sound coming right out to almost being at my feet a little disconcerting at times. I was told this was the shanlings forward nature. This is in comparison to my NAD which is not forward at all).
They need plenty of grunt apparently, he was running a Thule 350w (8ohm in 2 channel mode) which he found was about the right amount of power. Nine Inch Nails "fully cranked" never sounded so good. I am told they sound even better now that he is running his Shanling direct into the power amp using the variable output instead of using a top of the range Denon as the pre.
I was really worried that when I got home I would be unhappy with my 804s via a humble NAD dvd. I'm glad to say that for whatever reason (maybe just personal taste I don't know) but I still preferred my humble sound system (if I upgraded my 100w power amp and added a decent CD player I would delete the word humble). To me the B&Ws achieved a more intimate sound that better suits my room and the majority of my CDs.
I hope you have a big room as those speakers need some decent space behind them. Acoustic treatments are also really important to tame that bi-pole sound bouncing off your rear walls (particularly if they are close).
I for one would be very interested in your experiences when you get them home and get them set up. I will be very surprised if you are not happy with them.Mac 8gb SSD Audirvana ->Weiss INT202 firewire interface ->Naim DAC & XPS2 DR->Conrad Johnson CT5 & LP70S-> Vivid B1s. Nordost Valhalla cables & resonance management. (Still waiting for Paul Hynes PS:M)

by sugarmediaHey Gang,
Would like to hear some personal opinions from anyone out there that has owned a pair of ML speakers, specifically the Aeon.
I am in a toss up on whether to get the "ML Aeon i" or the B&W 703 Series. It seems that if you like more rock or pop music,...-

by SanJose-TyI'm looking to buy a set of speakers to replace the old Bose AM10 that we had. At any rate, my wife prefers a specific look and she has pre-approved the B&W. It's my choice to select which ones. I've heard the B&W 604, 703, 704, XT4, ML Clarity and Aeon i. Frankly, I can't really tell the difference...-

by Chris DI was in Seattle this past week, and just happened to see that Martin Logan was doing their US premier of their new flagship model, the CLX, at a Magnolia Hi-Fi there in Seattle. So I went, and was TOTALLY blown away by the performance. For a while now, I've thought that my next (and last) speaker...-
