        Hi,

        Ah, the Swedes do HiFi....

Primare sound great. I mentioned in another thread that a buddy has one and loves it. I really like it too. Primare are really quite popular in Europe and Ireland. Superb build, balanced outputs and it's a dual mono DAC player....

My buddy has new 802Ds along withng a GamuT pre/power combo. Nice.

Anyhow, I've not heard or any reliability issues - the 'Audiophile' base in Ireland is small and one tends to hear when a particular product is iffy.

No disrespect or offense to PeterS, but The Denon 2910 and the Primare are poles apart in terms of audio performance, build quality and style. The Denon is a fine UDP and great value too, don't get me wrong, but it's not anywhere near as good as the Primare or most other players at that level for CD playback.

        Give it a blast.
        Vincent.

they do not have a pre amp
you are confusing it for the 30i preamp+ stereo amp
they can get the one you want but wont for cost
they were either rude or clueless when i was actively trying to get one

as for the coment on the denon vs, primare
i heard nothing magical come from the cd player except for the salesman's swearing trying to get it to function for 15min.... the things are solid pieces of metal though... i was almost unable to lift the 30i
keep in mind they only carry the cd21

i would jump on the cd31 but again retail only

the preamp is very nice, but i was unwilling to pay full retail

I'm a tad confused, please forgive me.....

I'm only discussing the CD31. The CD21 is a very different beast to the CD31 and priced accordingly.... about €1000 cheaper. Perhaps the CD21 and the Denon might be more of a logical comparison.

Interestingly enough, I'm considering a Primare based upgrade for my HT later in the year. I'm thinking about replacing my Rotel 1056 for the Primare SP31.7 MKII processor. Don't know about power amps yet, perhaps Classe. The only drawback is if I change the Rotel, I'm gonna catch changespeakeritis and I'd kind of like not to for another year or two!

The Danes tend to hog the limelight when it comes to HiFi but there are one or two other Swedish HiFi brands out there.

http://www.qln.se/ - they make speakers, Don't know much about them but I believe they have the same parent owner as Primare and Copland (Xena Audio of Sweden).

I do however know lots about a Swedish cable compay, but won't post details out of respect to Lex. That said, they are one of the (very)few cable companies out there that actually manufacture their own cable. I'll leave it there.

I was checking out the Pre30 and the CD31.
Something tells me this should be bounds above the Denon, not to disregard it, as im sure its better then the 15 year old Denon piece I have now.

I use the Primare a30.1 integrated amp and think it's superb in sound, functionality and power output.

The pre 30 is extremely well built. Fully featured, extremely good value for money here in Oz anyway. In my system though the pre30 I demoed sounded a touch dark and 3ch pwr amp I demoed later even darker - compared to say the mf pre-pwr I used to use and the sound I'm getting from my newer mf a5 pre-pwr which is a lot more forward sounding. Might come down to system matching. You might want to demo before buying.

Absolutely could not fault it on soundstage, clarity and detail though. Its the kind of thing I think youd' buy and drool over every time you used it, be extremely proud and last you well over a decade or so before you eve nthought of replacing it. Theres another forum member on here using one of these with no probs.

have not checked out the CD player. the other item have demoed but only instore was the sp21 HT amp - pre&pwr combined. Probably one of the best HT integrated setups I've come across in as far as how well it did 2ch. A bit on the pricey side though and you wouldn't want ot be trying to sell it on when its processing got out dated.

I have the Pre30 and like it very much. It has the features I needed is very quiet and has improved the 2ch side of my HT setup by a huge margin.

Since installing it I have had nothing but praise regarding the sound, depth, and imaging of the 2ch side of things.

Would I buy it again, most definitely, I have not even bothered looking at any other 2ch Pre’s since buying the Pre30.

Just a little snippet of info for you when looking at 2ch Pre amps, a lot of them are very wide and do not fit into some racks.

                            Hi All,

Just wanted to share my latest experience.

I'm a B&W 804s owner for 1.5 year. Hooked them up from the beginning with Arcam (because at first I wanted to integrate stereo and ht in one system). So I started with the AVR300 and changed them for A90 and P90 bi-amp...

Hello, I've just become a happy owner of a pair of B&W 804S's. Unfortunately, they have revealed to me just how inadequate my upstream components are. Went out today and listened to the Primare 130 integrated amp and CD31 player. They sounded great on a pair of Vienna Acoustics speakers. I just...
