    Velodyne DLS-3750 vs DLS-3750R

Okay, I know this is a bit low end compared to what you guys usually discuss around here, but I was curious if any of you have heard and compared the newer model DSL series by Velodyne to the older models?

I have a DLS-3750 that I use with a Tannoy system, and I'm rather fond of it. I purchased it when they went dirt cheap right before the -R series was announced.

I might consider a new sub for my Gallo system, and I've used the DLS-3500 with Due's before and really liked the results.

It seems that the newer models (the -R) just adds a bunch of processing, the remote, and IMHO a much uglier appearance. I was curious if that extra processing (which is digital and may not have been before) changed the character of the sub from the old models, and is it considered better, worse, or negligible?

    TIA

    Hi Shawn,

I can't help with the A/B comparison, but will your dealer let you audition the -R model at home? That'd be the way to go if it's possible.

      Hey David,

While that might be possible, the nearest dealer is over 60 miles away, and the nearest dealer I might be willing to trust is a bit further than that. That is why I'm trying to get some ideas from the forum members.

Natchitoches, eh? That does put you a bit off the audio/video-beaten path. FWIW, I was born just across the border in Tyler, TX. Well, I hope someone can hop in here with some experience.

B&W ASW 750 vs Velodyne SPL 1200 II
          by Ted
Greetings B & W great-ones. As I have been in the process of switching my HT from Klipsch to a B & W CM7/CM-C based system, I've been wondering about also switching out my Velodyne SPL 1200 II for a B & W ASW 750.

My reasons for doing so are purely aesthetic. I love the...

Velodyne DLS 4000 subwoofer vs Energy 12.3 subwoofer?
          by johnny_munyak
I'm in the market for a subwoofer and have been trying to decide between the 2 of these. The Energy sub looks impressive with 300 W RMS and 1200 W dynamic power. The velodyne is 200 w RMS but has the the nice remote and the digital sound fields. The Eneregy is rated to go down as low as 19Hz compared...

Velodyne CTS speakers: Are they good or not?
          by HereticPB
I have recently found out that Velodyne has a Home Theater speaker package of sorts. The are satelites with a Velodyne sub. There are L/R Front surrounds and L/R rear surrounds and a center channel plus one of the Velodyne subs.
I was wondering if these speakers are really good or not?
