    Radio Shack's 278-1217

    Hello All,

Anyone using this speaker wire? I read an article about this wire in an audio magazine. Absolute Sound had the wire listed with the high end wires to buy. $5.00 for every 60 feet changed the way I listen to movies & music.

Never tried that one particularly. As the gauge for the wire was too low(the first one i started to try was 16AWG). Do you have tiny component that only fits in 18gauge or the price and recommendation from the magazine? If you don't have those, go for the largest that you can get out there. I have mine for 12guage 100' for $30(SoundKing) but there's some cheaper out there for around $14. I just checked on their sites that they get expensive with the SoundKing(I think because of the price and they offered a while back ago........ $30 for 100' 12gauge is a steal!). Or better yet, they offered 10 gauge now and you should go for them if you can :T . Lemme know if you need the info about those and I'll PM to you(I think I'm not supposed to show any Merchandise stuff in public here?)

Stereophile Ultimate A/V magazine bites the dust...
        by Burke Strickland
They were struggling to define its identity. Under its previous name, "Stereophile Guide to Home Theater", it was becoming almost a clone of its stable mate, "Home Theater" magazine. Apparently they couldn't convince enough people that the two magazines offered enough that was both...

        Speaker wire length vs gauge?
        by gazix
I have an hk reciver (avr130) and it only puts out 50watts per channel. Because of my room, I need 25 feet for the fronts (floor to ceiling, across and down side wall...) And the fronts are routed through my polk psw202 sub then to my receiver (so the surrounds pick up as much bass as they can and the...

        Best Wire For Speaker Build
        by snmhanson
Now that I have the binding post versus terminal plate question answered, I have one more seemingly simple question to ask. I need to get some wire for the build. What wire works best? I am assuming that regular speaker wire is the way to go but what gauge and is there anything specific to look for?...

        speaker cable sizing/ideas for Rotel/Paradigm
        by jk@home
For a while now I have been using my Rotel 1055 receiver as a HT pre/processor for my L/C/R channels, feeding seperate Aragon/Marantz power amps.

I have decided to "seperate" my system. Will be using the Aragon to drive some maggies for music, and use the Rotel receiver to drive...
