Ibrahim Maalouf - WIND
Ripped to FLAC from redbook
Having mastered a four-valve trumpet created by his father, Ibrahim is able to produce quarter tones thus bridging the gap between Western & Arabic (makams) scales.
The packaging alone is wonderful; reminding us curmudgeons of the heyday times when vinyl came as cherished things that were tactile & visually inspiring. It includes a hinged hard-box, dual folding jewel envelope & a V nice 20 pg booklet.
Sound quality is of an unusual & pleasantly surprising high grade for a 'modern' recording, IMHO.
Currently on track eight of 12 with some untimely interruptions from the The Wife, still I am quite entranced & will re-play later this eve with full consideration & concentration.
