    Humming Noise

I just got a new HD set top box from Dish Network and I now have humming issues from my Monster and Rotel power amps. When I turn the volume down its noticable from 20ft away. Any Ideas on what it might be before I diconnect all my wiring and rewire everything.

    Please any suggestions

Are you saying that the amps themselves are humming? Or do you mean there is a humming sound coming from your speakers?

How do you have the HD receiver connected?

If it's humming from the speakers, it's probably a ground loop. You can confirm this by disconnecting the satellite input from the box. If the hum stops, it's a ground loop caused by improper grounding of the dish. If the hum doesn't stop, the issue lies elsewhere.

I found the problem it was a cut interconnect. When I was snipping the tie straps I cut the interconnect that connects the center channel from amp to preamp. My balanced interconnects are very thin so it was cut easily.

Ground Loop Hum and the RSP-1066
            by Daymond
Just got a 1066 and I am having a problem with what I think is Ground Loop Hum. I have the unit hooked up to a Monster PowerCenter HTS-3500MkII which is plugged in to a grounded outlet with all of my other components. I then disconnected the other components leaving only this processor plugged in along...

Any of you folks find the Rotel 1570 prone to experiencing Ground Loop Hums?

Seems that the Oppo BDP-95 connected via multi-channel analog creates the ground loop with the Rotel processor. If I disconnect the RCA cables, the ground loop disappears. If I use a cheater plug on the Oppo,...

Ground Loop Hum & Cable Isolator
            by Club1820
So when I first set up my HT I had a terrible Ground Loop Hum. With the help of this forum I purchased the Jensen Isolator and all things were great. I connected the isolator directly to the cable outlet in the basement/HT and the hum was gone. I even "think" it improved the picture. (?)...

            Ground Loop Hum?
            by P-Dub
I just noticed a ground loop hum coming from my subs, which are being powered by a Sampson S700. My whole setup is plugged into one large surge protector. As far as I can tell, if I shut off the TV, the hum goes away. I don't notice it during movies.

So should I just leave it be, or try...

            Ground loop hum on mains?
            by Inu_Yasha
I've noticed something very strange lately, it seems as if my speakers are producing a ground loop hum. I've never had any problems with this until just recently when I changed the location of my equipment in my room. I moved my sub from the right wall to the left. I went through my whole sound setup...
