    Revox help

My B-I-L has a Revox integrated amp (45w/ch) that he bought new in 1984. He has develpoed a problem that I can not diagnose. He seems to have a 'crackling' in one of the channels, or so we thought. When he reversed the channels (amp has a reverse channel function knob) the crackling was coming from the same speaker (right speaker 'A' pair {ADS L-710}). Ah ha, so it is the speaker you say. Problem is it is also making the crackling sound from his 'B' pair right speaker, even with the 'A' pair off. Since it is not channel-relevant or speaker-relevant what could it be? I am baffled.

Interconnects would indicate channel-relevant as would speaker cable.

    HI,
Rather than using the switch to reverse channels, physically change them on the rear of the amp. Indication so far is the problem is in the reversing switch or relay.

OK, update. When he listens to his tuner the 'noise' is not there. He has told me he is using high-dollar ICs. I was beginning to think it may be a bad voice coil in his speaker (ADS L810). But even when he has these off the noise is in his right 'B' speaker. We are both dumbfounded even more now.

        Hello,

My old RSX-1055 has developed an annoying issue, probably a year ago now, and it seems it won't fix itself What happens is there's occational crackling noise coming out of the left speaker. It's most prominent shortly after turning the unit on, and usually starts going away...

Just a couple of questions concerning some issues I have run into my center speaker. It's the htm61 and I understand people have issues with it, however this little problem is different. It's still very new so I beleive it is not broken in yet. I decided to try to break it in a little quicker, so...

Soooo I watched the Super Bowl on Sunday and everything was fantastic. No issues.

Fire up the system last night and there is this terrible crackling. No mids, woofers sounded fine, tweeter loud and crackling. So I begin the back checking process.

        Speakers ok? Check...

Just thought I would give the heads-up that ReVox are about to re-introduce themselves into the Australian Marketplace in a big way.

They have a new range of speakers available from bookshelfs all the way to two meter digital speakers!!!

They are releasing their media server...

Crackling noise with Rotel 1062 amp
        by RobG1
I went on vacation for a few days and when I came back I noticed a crackling interference coming from 1 speaker. I traded speaker cables at the amp and the noise went from the left channel to the right. It does this no matter which source I select. The noise varies in intensity and nothing I do seems...
