Importance of a transport when using a separate DAC

How important is the quality of CD player when you are using a separate DAC? I'm using Musical Fidelity X-DAC V3 with Denon DVD-2910 as a transport. Would I see any benefits of using a high quality dedicated CD player over using the Denon as a transport?

most likely not... you will see a slight better performance for the jitter correction of the transport...but it'd be so minor it's not really worth it. IMO.

The only reason to get a better CD player is to make use of the DACs (which you don't need).

So if you're happy, I'd stick with what you have!

Cable length between transport and DAC

I have a transport located away from my rack, I’m wondering if it’s better to have the DAC close to the transport and run 5 metre analogue RCA’s to the pre amp, or run 1x 5 metre digital from the transport to the DAC and using short analogue interconnects?

This is one of those tests and write ups I've ben wanting to get around to for some time, but there always seems to be something more immediately urgent to distract me from the effort. Well, there still are those things, but I figured it's time to get this done because I'm...

Do you ever see something on the web and right away, your first reaction is "I gotta have one, muy pronto!"

For whatever reasons, the new Denafrips Avatar CD transport struck that chord for me.

As an aside, how many of you knew that in 2019 vinyl outsold...

Sit back and relax, this is just another tale of weirdness with a little wonderfulness mixed in for goodmeasure (the best we can often hope for in life, no? )

Sometime while I was at the movie and out to dinner, the folks from the post office dropped off a package I've been waiting...

1098 with Sony CD Juke & external DAC????
        by Britchie
Anyone have experience with a CD Jukebox and a seperate DAC? I remember from a while back Andrew mentioned the A3 24. I really love the convenience of my CD Changer (Sony CDP-cx355) but feel like all the music could be better if played with a better CD Player. I was thinking about using an external...
