What is the $800.00 differance between the PB12 Plus/2 and the PB 12 Ultra/2. I only see a 100 watt differance in the amp. Their must be something I'm not reading. Can someone help?

The Ultra uses a higher end, more expensive driver. Also, I believe the box is built stronger to handle the greater pressure generated by the Ultra driver (I could be wrong about this, but I think it's true for the cylinder models at least). -
The Ultra driver is a good chunk of that as well as the stronger box. The EQ is also part of that. Also be sure to compare the textured black to the Textured black because they both come in a wood finish as well so the price goes up.Comment

Pros and Cons I can think of:
1. SVS is $500 cheaper
2. Velodyne is smaller, SVS is double the size
3. SVS goes lower according to the tests.

Trying to decided amongst the SVS Subs. Has anyone compare the Ultra's with the Plus's. For $1200 you can get sub with 1 12" Ultra or 2 12" Plus's. Are the Ultra's that much better or would it be better to have the 2 12"'s?

I have a svs pb12 ultra and I always rave about the sound. the salesman at the audio store said the james sub is the best for the money in it's class and he would put it up against any other... -
