    No sound from Analog Multichannel?

I recently purchased an SACD/AudioDVD player, the Pioneer Elite 47Ai. I know some folks aren't very found of it, but it was such a great deal I couldn't resist. Anyway, I bought an AudioDVD and I am not getting any sound from my channels. I am using a Denon 3801. I have the DVD connected to the Denon like this: I have the Analog 5.1 connected and I have the 2 RCA Stereo Connections. Dolby works great with movies, but I think the signal must be transmitting through the 2RCA's, because when I disconnect them, I get nothing. So it doesn't seem like my 5.1 connection is working. Any suggestions? If I had an I-link compatable receiver, it would be easier than the 6 connections, but I don't. Thanks for the help.

Most likely you need to go through the initial setup of the player to establish a preference for multi-channel output... at least that's how it works on my low-end Pioneer uni.

Then, of course, make sure to select multi-channel IN (or however Denon designates) on your receiver.

Ya, tried that. When I use Ext. In, it works, but only stereo. With Auto. select, Mulitchannel, Dolby, nothing comes out of any of the speakers.

"Official" results of programmable channel use with multichannel 7.1 analog inputs
        by Chris D
There has been some concern and confusion here about whether the programmable channels work on the C1/C2 when listening to a source through the 7.1 multichannel analog inputs.

I did some testing on my C1 to get the real answer in operation, not out of a book. The answer is that it depends...

        Question on analog multichannel inputs
        by wmessin
Please bear with me as this is my first real post here. I just joined.

I've had a Sony receiver for a year or so and I'm now looking to get into the separates. Due to some budget constraints I'll have to first get an amplifier and use my receiver as the processor and then sometime later...

Multichannel Bass Management for Rotel 1056
        by Scherr
I have a Rotel 1056 and have recently purchased a Pioneer 51fd blu-ray player which I am using the multichannel analog input. Do I need to boost the bass by 15 db's (is speakers are set to small in the player) or does the receiver automatically provide the boost?

        Thanks,
