    Hello Ziourkus,

Are you upgrading to a home theatre system or just changing components?

I'm doing the Denon 2 channel with a sub and would someday like to go seperates or maybe try a nice integrated for an upgrade.

What I found is it may have sold new for seven hundred back in 91' and now go for two forty'ish. I'm not in sales, just have a lot of time on my hands. :spin:

      Thanks for answering me,
I'm not upgrading just thinking to shift to something smaller, in size I mean, cause I have much space less and also speakers are quite big......
I think I'll take one of this average DVD hometheatres with small speakers.....

Hi Giorgio, welcome to The Guide. :welcome:

I wasn't familiar with the A-809, but after reading many of the owners'/evaluators' comments are you sure you want to get rid of it? It seems that it is rather well thought of for sound-quality. If you do want to proceed, I agree with Pat's estimation of pricing - $240 or $250 US would be a reasonable starting point.

Now, on downsizing speakers there is a lot of "room" to manuever. What are you looking for?

wow I can't believe I'm answering after so long time but I have been off line for many weeks overwelmed at work.....
I don't know exactly what I'm going to buy as a new system cause I'm actually "out of the market" I don't know models, prices etc..... I also have a buyer for the amplifier and speakers, I'll get rid of the A-809 and I'll see later..... Most probably I'll bother you guys for some advices.....

Planar dipoles have always been one of my favorite speakers. The primary issues creating a good DIY dipole planar system have been the cost and availability of drive units.

The B&G RD series drivers are $pendy, and need a higher than advertised XO point to sound their best. In addition...

              Receiver to Integrated Amp?
              by bleeding ears
Hi all, having seen so many good integrated 2 channel amps up for sale at very cheap prices, I was contemplating hooking up an integrated amp to the preouts on my receiver. ( fronts 2 only).

Is this possible without causing any problems?
Also it seems a bit weird having 2 volume...

Receiver connected to Integrated Amp ?
              by bleeding ears
Hi all, having seen so many good but very cheap used Integrated Amps for sale I am contemplating using one to power my 2 Front speakers.

I currently am using a receiver so I assume I would connect the Integrated Amp to the preouts on the back of my receiver (2 Fronts).

              Hi members,
It is most likely this question has been asked, but I cannot find reference to it, so perhaps all it will take is someone redirecting me ...

Anyway I have Rotel 03 series integrated amp and cd player (with B&W 603s).

              I probably would have gotten...

              Hi everyone,
First post here and it is the reason I found the htguide just yesterday. I'm hoping someone out there more experienced in the audiophilia way can give me an answer (google is pretty slack about questions that don't involve movies or celebrities). What is the function...
