    Parts needed for Chiro C-500

    Hello everyone,

This is my 1st post here. I recently bought the whole set-up from a local person which includes C-500, C-800, and the decoder 5.1. The owner told me one of the rear channel was bad. I trusted him for his worlds. :E

Brought it home, the C-500 didn't turn on when I pushed the power button. Did not know what to do I brought it to my tech. My tech told me the little transformer (not the big one) was bad and he doesn't know where to get the part. I tried to call Tony De Chiro as he is the designer but his phone is no longer working.

Can you guys help me find it?

    Thanks,
    Don

Anyone knows if a schematic exists? From it I may be able to find an equivalent part.

Hi Don, welcome to The Guide. :welcome:

I can't Google up much useful info on Chiro products at all - mainly sales of used equipment. It seems like once Kinergetics went out of business, they pulled everything into a hole with them and covered it up.

Thanks David. It seems I have to wait for a bad C-500 for parts on Ebay or just part it out to other luckier owners.

          McIntosh C2300, C500 et C1000 !

          Hello everyone,

I started this about wanting to have some clarification on the record to listen between the three pre McIntosh, the C2300, the C500 and C1000, both in terms of openness, depth (soundstage) than stamps. What interests me is primarily what differentiates them.

Anyone know where you can get a Chiro preamplifier or decoder repaired?

Is it worth it? Any suggested replacements

Zaph's blog has an interesting and amusing new entry here:

I read it with great interest, being a fan of Energy speakers. As a matter of fact, I think that not being able to afford a pair of Veritas was part of the reason I got into DIY...

N802's don't like to be moved
          by Jeff
I recently brought home my demo n802's. I put on a couple cd tracks on my outgoing Phase Tech Teatro 11.5's (Diana Krull - Temptation, plus a few other tracks). They sounded great as usual.

I then connected the N802's, removed the transportation mount for the midrange and played Diana....

          Hi,

Newbie here and planning to save up for my home theater. I got a good deal on the Anthem PVA7 amp from a Montreal dealer that I couldn't pass up (it is an amazing amp for two channel...what a surprise!!). I am thinking of purchasing the AVM20 next year.

          The dilemma...
