My no longer new 2017 LP Std, but still nice... :-)

2017 Gibson Les Paul Standard, weighs in at 8 pounds and 10 oz. Burstbucker pro pickups, Maple top, Rosewood fret board, some flame, a little semi quilt finish. It's Cherry Burst... I hope you like viewing it. It was setup by the masters of the craft...

Really, a smooth guitar, I will enjoy it I believe.

Thank you Chris!!! She plays real well, well, for this hack anyway... Honestly, I just figured it was a decent investment at what I paid and all new and setup by the masters at Wildwood Guitars. Sure, I could lose some $, but I could earn some too if I sold it someday, maybe. Most likely, it will be my daughter's to decide someday. I don't think I will sell it unless I well, had too. Nobody gonna make me, just a matter of greenbacks! lol. I bought it for about 1K under what they say 2018 Les Pauls were price increased too. I don't know how much stock I put in that, but you know, who knows what the future holds. Gibson could go bust, or materials get so high a guitar like this used would be worth 4-5K. Anything is possible?

Rosewood is gradually becoming a thing of the past for Fretboard materials, they say. Gibson is using mostly richlite for Fretboards now? I think it's just compressed paper with polymers in it or something like that. Doesn't play bad, but it's no Rosewood.

        10. Pete Townshend (The Who)

The guitar, as an instrument, has never sounded as angry as when played by Pete Townshend. Listen to “Young Man Blues” on Live at Leeds or “The Real Me” on Quadrophenia, and you will hear the sound of a man on the edge, abusing his instrument as the...

        Gibson 61 SG Standard Re-issue
        by Lex
I got a new SG a couple of weeks ago, I got full credit on a Flying Vee that didn't work out, I had a SG Special at one time, but it wasn't so special, so I got a upgrade, the SG standard is pretty fun guitar, with the right pedals. I do love the light weight of the SG sometimes, a Les Paul is a boat...

        Nephew, grandkids, and guitars...

I had an unusual discussion with one of my nephews the other day, after he asked just how many guitars I have, and why....

I sort of deflected at first, just said, "Well, I probably have more guitars than you have underpants..." -- which of course, he viewed as rather improbable....

This one absolutely deserves its own write-up.

For anyone not familiar with this story, it's based on a book by Victor Hugo, set during the ongoing French Revolution in the early 1800's. It's a story of pain, anguish, justice, grace, damnation, sacrifice, love, and redemption. Has been...

Rosenut of 800S/D vs. Rosewood of older 800 Nautilus line
        by boarder1995
Ok, I'm in the hunt for 800 series speakers and am consider a used pair of Nautilus line units, but am concerned about finish colors. Black ash is easy to match up, but what about the Rosenut current 800 color versus the older Rosewood color in the Nautilus line? I may just go black to keep it simple,...
