    Gibson 61 SG Standard Re-issue

    I got a new SG a couple of weeks ago, I got full credit on a Flying Vee that didn't work out, I had a SG Special at one time, but it wasn't so special, so I got a upgrade, the SG standard is pretty fun guitar, with the right pedals. I do love the light weight of the SG sometimes, a Les Paul is a boat ancher at times, though I do love my Pauls...

    The 57 Classic pups do need some help to get that just right aggressive sound. So, I went pedal shopping yesterday, more on that later.

      That is a nice looking guitar. Any plans to modify it, or leave it stock?

          Probably just stock, I seem to be able to get te tones out of the 57 classics wit pedals I want, so I'm good with it. I don't do much mods. I pretty much take what they give me.

                  Whew! That's a lot for a nothing like me, ha.

                      That's a nice guitar Doug. Derek Trucks would approve I'm sure, though he'd probably go for the cherry rather than the brown.

                          Thanks Nigel, I had a Cherry "Special", it was a sharp guitar, including sharp edges on the frets. However, it had good tone and played ok. It was odd ball out at one point I needed some equity. So, no more cherry, they are sharp though!

                          Derek probably has that heavy tailpiece too, like on his signature model. But I paid well less than 1/2 price of one of those. Here was my Cherry I had.

                                  Oh, I am more of a Les Paul man actually, and Telecaster, lol. I own a lot of guitars right now. I may thin the herd down some eventually. Right now, having fun with them.

                                  I don't want to turn this into a big show right now. Maybe someday I will show my collection, in small increments. lol.
