Something a little Different - Trapezoidal Lowther Cabinets

I'm working on a build for a customer that asked if I could post some pictures for him.

The original intent was to build these out of Baltic Birch, but with the with the price doubling recently, as well as total lack of availability, we decided on mdf. Of course even the price of that has gone up, though not as much.

Ah, I was wondering what those smaller pieces were for. Do you get to handle the driver itself? I've only seen them in pictures, they always look really nice.

Nope .... I'd like to see them, there supposed to be rather nice from what I've read.

Thanks now I have a good idea of what the parts look like . I like the slotted ports in the cabinet. I’m gonna have to Google the driver, as I don’t know about that one… This would be a fun cabinet to finish. The size is nice and the weight looks manageable.

Nope ..... though I am going to paint the inside of the ports during assembly. Figure it will be a lot easier than trying to get it done when the cabinets are all together.

Shot some black paint inside the port sections prior to gluing.

Now main cabinet glue up is underway.

So these will be fully “assembled”, not knock flat DIY.

                            Yep, all put together.

Here's a little more progress on things. Sides attached and installed some Sonic Barrier. Baffle installed on the first cabinet and getting ready for the second one to be installed.
