It will work with for any specific setting meant for a 1/4" if the radius is the measure, which is what I thought the Jasper Jig used for the settings. If those settings are for diameter then you are correct.Originally posted by Rolexgoing up or down in bit size by 1/16" will not cure the problem. Try drilling a hole with a 9/64" bit instead of the 1/8" bit required for the jasper jig. That will allow you your 1/32" of accuracy.

lunchmoney,
First off: great thread and build. The speakers look fantastic.
As an owner of both the SR71 & the tritrix can you comment on the SR71's ability to "play loud" compared to the tritrix? Think they can handle rock at pretty good rockin' volumes?- Bottom

Well, I can't really say, as I've never really pushed them that hard.
When I first built each, I tested them out where I work... I played them fairly loud, and both performed well, and that was run full range... I didn't notice any issues with either...
I would think that the SR71's would perform better at high volumes, based on the fact that they are far better drivers that exhibit far less distortion... but that's just speculation, as I've never really pushed either that hard.
Overall the SR71's absolutely spank the Tritrix's... but that's to be expected given the drivers used.. although IMO the Tritrix certainly win in the "bang for the buck" department.- Bottom

I think I might take the plunge into an SR71 build and I will be using this thread as a reference. Thanks, your work is beautiful!-Josh

This article will describe the fruits of my efforts to build a moderate sized speaker which might be moderately above average in performance for a basic two-way system. I desired a speaker like this both for my own use in secondary systems, and to fill a need for some friends, who desired fairly full range response (i.e., “it’s gotta have good bass”). Also, though I have access to a good wood shop, many potential DIY enthusiasts may not, so I hoped to use a modified...-

by Patrick SunOkay, here's a bunch of photo's of my DIY center channel speaker construction. I'm sure there are plenty of ways better to build the box, but going for simplicity and hope that form follows function.
The idea being I wanted a more consistent front sound stage, so I decided to use the...-

by JonWFor inside my speakers, I'll be making some braces to both hold the PVC port pipe as well as to try and cut down on some cabinet resonances. I'll glue the brace pieces together. And then glue the cabinet sides to the braces. That's the plan, at least. (I've never done any of this before.) I was...-

Here are images of them from the speaker camp thread...

by Brandon B"Evil Orange" seems to be clearing out their big Jorgensen cabinet master large jaw bar clamps (at least the 24" and 36") for about $10-15 off per clamp. $25 for the 24" and $30 for the 36".
This kind.
Definitely worth it at that price....-
