    Free Avalanche 18

    I'm a long time reader, but I don't post enough to put this in 'the pawn shop'...

    I'm relocating from Avon, CT to California this weekend and I don't have any way to bring the Avalanche 18 with me (without risking damage). Therefore, if there is anyone in the Avon, CT area willing to come pick it up, it's yours!

                  Hi guys,

                  Finally finished my (4) 15" Avalanche 15 setup!!! Man is it wild. They are setup two drivers per cabinet, each cabinet is 5.25 ft^3 sealed and they are run on a QSC PLX3402, so each driver is getting around 800-850 watts.

                  I have just recieved 2 avalanche 15 subs and I plan to build a couple of sealed subs. I plan 3ft^3 to 3.5ft^3 each with about 500watts to each sub. These will replace a single BP1503 in a 5.5ft^3 tuned to 22hz.

                  So I've decided to go with an 18" Avalanche in a sealed 4.6 cube sonotube, powered with a 500 watt plate amp. Does the tube need any internal bracing?

                  I was also thinking of trying to flush mount my plate amp onto the tube, like SVS does with their tubes. Is this advisable? If so,...

                  15" Avalanche enclosure recommendations

                  I just purchased a 15" Avalanche on special and I'm trying to figure out what enclosure I should put it in. I will be using this sub for 75/25 HT to Music but I don't want the music to suffer. Generally speaking I like the sound of a sealed enclosure but then again I've never heard a really well...
