Software to estimate F3 in ZRT design

    Hi All,

I'm considering doing a 2 way ZRT in a sealed cabinet. What I'd really like to achieve is an F3 about about 50hz. Is there software/freeware out there that I can use to estimate what the F3 would be for this design in a 20 and 30l cabinet?

Also, if the sealed design doesn't get me to 50Hz, I was considering a 30l cabinet and going ported. In that case, what software could I use to calculate the port size and tuning?

Sorry, I'm new to this in some ways, and with the price tag of these drivers, I don't want to screw it up.

BTW, this will be a nearfield design, so I'd front mount the port if I have to go ported to get 50Hz at -3dB.

    Thanks!
    Paul

    Unibox is very accurate.

Edit: Ok, I entered all of the parameters available from Scanspeak, and I'm getting several errors during the calculation because some of the data is incomplete (divide by 0, etc.). Can someone else run the calcs on this driver using a 28.5l vented box? Actually, I want to use PE boxes of either .999 ft³ (28.29l), or 1.010 ft³ (28.6l).

      Here's what I get using 28.5l:

Design by Vb, Fb and Q
      Physical Vb 28.5 l
      Absorption, Qa 80
      Leakage, Ql 15
      Port, Qp 80
      Alpha, a 2.035
      Vb 29.0 l
      Fb 40.28 Hz
      F3 38.02 Hz
      Response peak 2.89 dB
      Peak at 58.08 Hz
      Port min dia. 6.82 cm
      Port length 43.01 cm
      Port 1. resonance 358 Hz

The parameters I used for the driver are:

      Fs 28.50 Hz
      Re 5.80 Ohm
      Qms 5.10
      Qes 0.39
      Sd 150.0 cm2
      Vas 59.0 l
      Xmax peak 6.50 mm
      (Le) 0.35 mH
      (Le2) 0.00 mH
      (Re2) 0.00 Ohm
      Nominal Power 70.0 W

        Problems with port tuning (Noob)

I'm working on a ported enclosure for my RS225. UniBox suggests a 25cm x 3" port for a 50L with an Fb of 29.5hz. I've used ThomasW's port measuring procedure shown below. Odd results (for me anyway), so I tried a few variations on port lengths out of curiousity. Here's what was measured:...

        Zaph ZRT build questions
        by djn04
I've posted this on another forum but thought i would post here as well since John is known to post on this forum.

I've built the cabinets with the exception of the baffles and the kit from Madisound will be here tomorrow.

        Some pics of the cabs.

        Essentially completed sealed ZRT..
        by xyrium
I assembled John's ZRT design in a sealed cab of about 1 cu ft. The only mod to the xover was the speaker pad, in which I opted for a 9 Ohm resistor instead of the 6.

Here's a shot from REW with the RS Mic about 3.3ft away, centered, and height is between the tweeter and woofer.

        ZRT vs Modula NeoD CC
        by Doug Fraser
I am trying to understand what the difference in sound will be between the new Zaph ZRT project vs the Modula NeoD CC.

The speakers will be ceiling mounted (near corners) in a bedroom about 15' x 15'. I have a pair of RS 180 Modula MT's in there now and they sound very good. However,...
