    D26NC55 LR2 - what frequency?

    A quick question.

Does anyone happen to know, or be able to make a good guess at, what a comfortable frequency would be for the D26 with an LR2?

The issue might be not how low it breaks up in terms of non linear distortion, but how much low end frequency response there is to shape to hit the target. For that reason I use the XT25 or SS6600 , which are better candidates for a LR2 slopes below 3k. However, the D26 might be able to do a 3.5kish LR2 Fc, maybe lower with more strain.

Thanks, Jed. This would be for a Soundrounds type design where a small face plate is needed. And, I've got a pair laying around. OTOH, I'd love to use the XT25. At this point, I'm just in the concept phase (and should be focusing on my Trilliums, instead )

Vifa D26NC55 seems discontinued. Looking at other small flange tweeters.
        by JonW
I’m thinking up a small sized, high quality speaker project. A tweeter with a small flange would be helpful here. It looks like the much-loved D26NC55 is listed by Vifa as discontinued:

        Vifa XT25 Tweeter
        by JonMarsh
For those of you who may be into or considering DIY speaker projects, one of the newer tweeters that's been getting a lot of notice is the Vifa XT25 in it's various configurations. Manufacturers as diverse as Krell and Polk Audio are using it in new products.

        XT25 and XT19 below 3khz???
        by Jim85IROC
I've got a pair of Vifa XT19 tweeters that I'd like to use with a pair of Silver Flute W14 woofers. Over and over I hear people say that the XT tweeters don't perform well below 3khz, but because of their nice low resonant frequency, it seems like they'd be a good candidate for low frequency use. ...

        What's the lowest frequency I could x-over a 27TBFC/G using 2nd order slopes?
        by fjhuerta
        Hello all,

I know the SEAS 27 TBFC has been crossed over as low as 1.4 KHz, 4th order acoustic, without many issues.

I'd have supposed that meant the tweeter could work at 2.8 KHz, 2nd order. But browsing through Zaph's site, I've noticed the relationship between x-over...

        D26 FR Consistency
        by Jed
Posted this in the other Lineup Thread, but I thought I should post here to get some feedback on this. Maybe I'm overreacting?

JohnL brought up driver consistency of the W4 in the other Lineup Series thread and that sparked my interest in driver consistency tests. I just measured...
