    Surround speaker small MT design?

Does anyone here have a small MT design maybe using the
Dayton Reference woofers and new tweeter that would be
suitable for a smaller room but the cabinet size needs to be smaller for wall mounting so I can aim the speakers down
    at the listener. -heh

A store bought product with this requirement would look
    like this;

About $150 each. For HT and non critical listening they may
work but DIY is always intersesting especially if I don't
    have to re-invent the wheel.

Options? A smaller Modula design, smaller box, less bass
is probably fine for this application.

A bigger box in wall mounting ? Can't aim the tweeters.

This is the closest thing I've done that might your requirements- you can reduce the box size or change the arrangements if you don't need as much bottom end, or need to "aim" tweeters. There's a minimum floor for the crossover with the RS drivers below which you can't go for performance reasons- dealing with the upper end cone resonance. This was my effort to make a good, relatively low cost crossover for those drivers, or the Seas soft or aluminum dome models.

    Hope that helps...

Put your woofer in a box in the wall, put the tweeter in a small sub-enclosure with a pivoting mount. Mounted properly, in a close enough proximity to each other, they would probably sound fine...

or mount them too far apart and enjoy that B*se lifestyle sound.

The schematic drawing confuses me as I'm a stickler to old
school schematic capture. I see too many schematics and people using different methodologies <at work>

ie, is the tweeter negative connecting to R3 and L3 or
is it just connecting to C12 ?

          Is R7 connected to L4 or just C11 ?

Looking for a smaller design that's not so expensive.
            by Hdale85
I know of the designs here but just curious if anyone knows of anything elsewhere. My in laws own a restaurant and want a stereo in there and their 1 year anniversary of being open is coming up soon. So I decided I'd build them some speakers for it. I want something smaller like a TM or something like...

This all started with my 'Convergence' project on a quest for a great bandpass design using a PR as the exit. Initially it was a TB W8-1445A (one-off production sample from the Tent Sale, and also this next item too) and an Eminence 12" PR. I wrote up the project here:

            Modula MT In Wall
            by SE-Raider
For a number of reasons, primarily visual aesthetics, active kids, and WAF, as well as the challenge of it, I'm considering doing a version of the Modula MT mounted in-wall. The cost effectiveness of the Reference drivers is very attractive. I will need to use the Modula MT over the MTM versions due...
