    Home Theater Calculators

Two useful calculators when building your own home theater

This should be made into a sticky

Edit by moderator since the links go to a website where the OP is selling a product

There's already a forum/stickied thread for reference links.

If moderators think these sites are worthy to be on that list, they'll add them.

Might be a good idea to have a sticky for these but not in the DIY audio section of the forum, so I moved it to the HT design section

There are much better around for both, and ones not overloaded with ads.

              RR-969 remote getting sticky?
              by likwidsh0k
This is going to sound like an idiotic question I know but I have to ask.

Can the RR-969 remote black plastic section become tacky or sticky if left unused for a long time?

I haven't used it for at least a year but it has been on the table and now go to use it again and...

Home theater primer for new people
              by Andrew Pratt
Given that at this time of year there are likely a number of people looking to get into the hobby I figured it was likely a good time to start a thread explaining some of the basics about our beloved hobby.

These are two of the best links I've found on explaining what progressive scan...

              WARNING! Dumb question ahead!

A friend of mine owns several homes that he rents out. Long story short one renter couldn't pay the bills so my friend took these as payment. Naturally he brought them to me and to be honest I've never heard of them.

              I did a GOOGLE and diddn't...

              Where'd the sticky threads go?
              by Kevin P
The Mission Possible DIY "sticky" threads have a new home!

They are now in the Missions Accomplished! sub-forum.

This helps de-clutter the DIY forum, making it easier to find new posts/threads there. When a thread is determined to be suitable for a sticky, ThomasW...

              Links to info on Valves
              by wkhanna
I thought we should make a list of links for info and reference material related to Valves.
Note that links to companies selling services or products are not endorsed by me or this site, and are included only as sources for general information.
