    Help with sound quality.....;.

    Hey All,
Sound transmission is not an issue, I don't care if the whole hose rocks, my question is will the lack of insulation in the walls around my HT have an impact on sound quality?????? Would love to post pics if someone points me the right direction (how to do it).
    Thanks
    Brac

Room is 16 x 19 x 8... with an open staircase in the back, I think/hope this will help with acoustics. Front and rear wall are sheetrock. DIY screen. side walls are v-match wormy pine.

equip is 5.1 100 wpc cont. with all Klipsch speaks Klf-30 and the matching additions.

You most definately want some sort of room treatments to optimize the sound, there have been some recent threads on this.

    Try this one.

Thomas' page is very good. Start there and see what you think.

New theater build. In-walls or boxed speakers?
      by Mazeroth
I'm finalizing the drawings for my finished basement which will have a dedicated theater room that's 12w x 16d x 7.5h. I'll be using a DLP projector on a ~ 100" screen which will leave roughly 25" on each side of the screen (after border) for speakers. Since space is limited and I would...

Constrained layer cabinet walls (bathroom tile as constraining layer)
      by xandresen
I am posting this to document my DIY constrained layer technique for cabinet walls. New cabinet construction is shown here but you could add it to an existing cabinet if the front panel is removable.

I wanted to try constrained layer construction because the 1.7 cubic foot, 3/4" wall...

It has no windows and concrete walls on one side and one end, sheet rock one the other side and the final wall not yet built. Since it's not yet built, I'd like to look...
