    Nearly finished...

Well I'm, finally, nearly, finished my Garage conversion.
I wanted to be done before I went on vacation in mid-August, but I only got as far as half the baseboards being installed before I ran out of liquid nails the night before leaving. The carpet was to be installed while I was away. But 2 things happened

    1) the carpet got back ordered and was installed about 2 weeks behind schedule
    2) I broke my foor on vacation (riding dirtbikes in the Yukon)

So progress drew to a complete stand-still while my foor at least got out of it's (soft) cast. But now I've done what should have been done, and there's very little left (finishd the entrance extension, cover over a vent that was going to be used, and install some in-wall surround speakers)

So view, critique, and enjoy. God knows I already am

Nah, editing is for revisionists (like online versions of mainstream media)
If you make a mistake, stand pround and admit it !

I've been a long time lurker and sponge of information on this site, thanks for all of the vicarious support throughout the project.

I finally finished my media room and wanted to share a bit.

I started these over a year ago.
I have been swamped with tons of other projects.
Now I that I have had some time to start on them again,
I figured I would start my own build thread

              Carpet Spikes
              by audiojunky
Is it aboslutely required to put carpet spikes if you're placing your speakers on a carpet?

I did not put the carpet spikes cause I heard that they can damage/tear the carpet. My wife won't be happy if that happens.

However a friend of mine said that to get smooth bass,...

sonotube sub, finish in carpet, headliner, or ...
              by oxcartdriver
I have completed the glue up on my sonotube sub this evening.

I've read of many using headliner to wrap the sonotube on the external surface.

Has anyone used carpet? I was considering using a low nap/pile carpet to wrap my tube. Are there reasons not to use carpet? What...

              ATS Acoustic Panels Installed
              by theSven
I finally took the plunge 3 weeks ago and purchased some 48"x24" ATS acoustic panels for the theater/listening room. In preparation for the new center channel Steve Manning is helping me with. Per the posts from Evil Twin getting a panel was required. I first ordered 6 panels, but then realized...
