    Harmony SST-659

Has anyone seen or used this remote?

    http://www.harmonyremote.com/

Seems good for those who don't like touch-screen remotes, and don't want the hassle of programming their own macros.

Pretty good for $199 (retail). Their site also has a very comprehesive list of components to choose from.

    Any thoughts?

I just recently purchased the 659 remote and have been seriously impressed,i went from a home theater master mx500.This remote is really great and very simple to use,i have many different components and beside a few initial programing glitches,i now have it programed for nine activities. The only down side is the smaller buttons to activate the special functions for each device are kinda hard to use,but livable. For the price its going for its well worth the money,in my opinion. :T

I've been using the 659 for about a week now. It was very easy to set up. I do have a few modifications to perform to make it a bit more friendly for my use. However, it is a very nice remote.

I have a used one on the way which I picked up for $100. I may then return the one I currently have to the retailer because, for some reason, the volume button is sticking at times in the "down" position. Other than that minor complaint, I love this thing.

The lighted blue display also rocks. :T :T

I purchased the Harmony Remote about 3 months ago for an internet special of $149.00. My main reason for purchasing this remote instead of an MX-700 was for it's ease of use for my wife and other family members. It's one button use with labelled buttons to play a movie or listen to music or watch tv make life with my audio-ht system much easier. I do not have to worry about amplifiers or pre-amps or hdtv's being turned on and off willy nilly. I had to do some re-programming only with my tivo's.

          New Harmony owner question
          by UCLAman
Just purchased my father a Harmony 659 remote (Father's Day). My question is - Does the LCD ever turn off? After I use it, the Harmony name/logo remain on the remote - is this normal? Does it drain the batteries faster?? Should I be concerned - Help!

          Thanks

          Harmony remote with RSX-1056?
          by stantheman2
I have owned the RSX-1056 for almost a year but have never liked the remote - I have to reset every time I want to use the OSD, I sometimes have to enter commands multiple times, etc. I saw the Harmony remotes (659, 688, and 880) and was intgrigued by the Internet-based programming and seeming good...

          MX-850 vs Harmony 670

I am looking to upgrade my Harmony 659 and have these 2 choices in mind. How do these compare for quality and accessability.

I do like my Harmony remote now but it seems to be eating the batteries. I change them almost every month. I hope this is not a commen problem with Harmony or...

          Pronto TSU300 vs. Harmony SST-659

I'm trying to decide on a universal remote that's easy to program, easy to use, and doesn't break the bank but controls everything I want it to the way I want it to. Does anyone out there have experience using either of these remotes with their Rotel gear, particularly the Harmony? I'd like to save...

          Odd RSP-976 remote issues...and a fix!
          by DrJazz
I just wanted to share an odd experience I've been having with my trusty old RSP-976 surround sound processor. For quite some time now (well over a year, maybe more) I've been having one helluva time with the remote control. Specifically, the 976 would only respond intermittently to volume up and down...
