Oh Lord, won't you buy me, ....

Samsung MP241 24" Diagonal LCD Monitor, with RGB, HDTV, Componenent HD, and SDTV Component inputs

Oh Lord, won't you buy me, a big LCD,
My friends all watch Sony's, so what about me?
Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from above,
So oh Lord, won't you buy me a big LCD.

Janis would want one, too, if she were still on this plane...

Think about a grand higher....

Of course, it does come with some nice (according to reviewers) detachable speakers...

And no, Santa didn't come through, not even after waiting all that time in line at the mall!

Oh bummer, Santa didn't get it for ya huh?

But what would you do with it, watch movies on it?

for 4K, put another 6 with it and get a big plasma.

No, I'd use it primarily as a workstation monitor- for CAD and DTP work I do. I've been pondering getting a 20" 1600X1200 LCD, but this would be better. Maybe in a couple more years it will be available at a "reasonable" price.

One should consider that a Sony GDM-FW900 CRT 24" monitor is available for about $2K...

but it's much heavier and takes up more space, and has about an inch smaller actual diagonal view....

Dell has it for about $1750. $1750 buys a lot of MDF and drivers, though!

Well, 1750 is down in the realm of possibilities at least. Maybe give up the inch, and save 2K, lol. Or wait, as you say, in a couple of years, it should be 2500. Guessing.
