Is this video okay in price?

first post...be gentle. I have an opportunity to purchase an ASUS v7700 Pro for 140.00 CDN (85-90 USD). Is this too high. I believe the v7700 has the GTS GPU, VIVO, 3d glasses (kinda gimmiky but they're included). I can sell my old card for $60 so the net result is $80 which I think is reasonable. Anyone else have an opinion?

I'm not familiar with the V7700 Pro, is it possibly the V7100 Pro?

You can check out this site for canadian pricing.

They have the v7100 Pro for about $137 so your price is about market. If it's the 7700, then that might be a very good deal.

Gordon, that's sounds like a very good price for the V7700. If it is configuered as you say with the VIVO/3D Glasses, then that would make it the "Deluxe" I believe, which is still selling for $280 CDN at NCIX. Check it Out Here

I would go for it, short of not being able to rcommend anything else in that class and price.

You may want to confirm that it is the V7700 Deluxe.

No apparently it's the GeForce2 Pro (32MB card however) which apparently is alittle better than the Deluxe which is based on a GTS

Well, Asus does build a good vid card. I have the Asus 8200 G3. I have an Nvidia Ge-force 2 that is a pretty good card, might want to check their price. Also, keep in mind, with Ge-force 4 apparently close, these G2s should be going way cheap sooner than later.... True Bing?

Gordon, I'm not sure what the main use of your card would be, if it's for gaming or video editing. However that seems like a good price for the GF2 Pro regardless.

If your more into gaming you may want to look at the GF2 Ti's as it offers even more performance than the Pro.

You could pick up an Asus GF2 Ti 32 Mb, Pure for $178 (More Here) or you could get an Aopen GF2 Ti 64Mb with TV out for $168 (More Here) or an MSI GF2 Ti Pro 64mb VIVO for $196 (More Here)

Still you won't go wrong with the Asus you picked at that price. If your wanting a bit more speed then go with the GF2 Ti's.

Here are the ratings of the chips.

              GeForce2 Ti
              Memory Interface: 128-bit DDR
              Pixels per Second: 1 Billion
              Memory Bandwidth: 6.4GB/s
              Triangles per Second: 31 Million

              GeForce2 Pro
              Memory Interface: 128-bit DDR
              Pixels per Second: 800 Million
              Memory Bandwidth: 6.4GB/s
              Triangles per Second: >25 Million

              GeForce2 GTS
              Memory Interface: 128-bit DDR
              Pixels per Second: 800 Million
              Memory Bandwidth: 5.3GB/s
              Triangles per Second: >25 Million

              Have fun!

Thanks to everyone for their advice. I really appreciate it. Ihave made up my mind and have decided to get the card. Thanks again.

Bing...I do game some but most are between 3 years old - last year. My wife and I have a analog video camera and I recently have been exploring transferring video to VCD so the VIVO features of the card will come in very handy. I think that this card is a good move.
