THX just released a new app. As far as I know, it's their first app, not a new version. But they're letting people download it for free this first week only. I don't know how much it's going to cost after that, or if even the app you download will have to be paid for after this week to unlock, like some sort of trial version. But get it while you can!!!

I downloaded it for iOS. Looks pretty darn cool. Has built-in calibration material for audio and video. It even has you input what A/V equipment you use, and then gives you step by step instructions on how to perform various A/V system calibrations. Of course, it's not going to replace a professional calibration, as you would still need a visual spectrum analyzer and such, but it's absolutely a good start to begin with calibrations. You can play THX trailers and audio too. (very cool idea to include those, I think, since they're so popular)
