What software do you use for movie playback?

I was curious what software poeple are using to play DVDs on their machine. Trying to decide if I want to step away from open source OpenVLC player for something that does... more.

I use PowerDVD, but mainly because it came bundled with my DVD burner.

WinDVD or VLC for different region playback.

I have an HTPC sort of setup so I use Media Portal and CoreAVC decoder. Media portal is free you'd just have to install your favorite decoder. There are some free ones out there. I kind of like the Nvidia DVD decoder it works pretty nice.

I periodically invest in Cyberlink's top version of Power DVD. I just bought the latest version for my laptop, which has full support for all lossless audio and BD.

Found that it gives maximum performance, you don't have to download extra codecs and worry about being able to play this particular format or that.

Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.

Yeah. My Meedio HTPC uses media player classic as the engine. I added k-lite codec and it has played everything that I've ever thrown at it. And pretty light on resources too.
