The biggest issue I need to figure out right now is how to run various external inputs through the PC to the projector. Especially HDMI multi-channel audio.

I've heard some very good things about this soundcard:Originally posted by Dougie085Problem with doing this is that there aren't many sound cards that sound real good.

I would go for the Auzentech version as their drivers are MUCH MUCH better. Creatives drivers are generally crap.

Probably one of the better sounding cards for HT as well and still uses the Xfi chipset. There is an HDMI card that you can get for it (not sure if its out?) but it will pass the new lossless formats over HDMI with it.- Bottom

You have any ideas on how to run, let's say, a PS3 into the PC. So PC then does processing on video and audio then outputs to the projector?-Chris B

That card has analog outputs as well. If you want to decode DTS-HD MA and True HD you need a card like that. I have not seen anything that will let you input HDMI on the PC. Honestly I think your going to have a hard time using it the way you are wanting to.- Bottom

I'll probably end up buying a cheap receiver... Why can't there be any cheap pre-pros...-Chris B

by fhsunHello, has anyone had the chance to listen to both New Classic pro/pro and compared it to Rotel pre/pro? Namely 7100 vs Rotel 1068?
Are they sonically similar or very different? How would you describe the Parasound sound?
The pre/pro would be driven by a Rotel RMB-1075...-

by Bob SorelEvery once in awhile in the audio world a piece of equipment comes along that is so incredible that it deserves special mention among a plethora of mediocre components, and the new THX EX equipped Tag McLaren AV32R is one such piece. Never since I first got my Dynaudio speakers has any single component...-

I just heard of this soundcard, and started wondering if this is a good option for me. I want to make my HTPC as good as a good CD player. I've been asking a few guys over at AVS about it, but haven't really heard from anyone who's owned that soundcard.... -
by aud19So I'll be building a HTPC for\with a friend of mine in Feb-March. I understand a lot can change in a month or so but I'd love to know if I'm on the right track, also if anyone knows of some great technology right around the corner...? :P I've built quite a few PC's in the past mostly for my home office... -
by sajagaHey all,
I am not sure as to whether I should part with my Rotel RSP1068 and go it alone with my HTPC directly feeding my RB1080 (200x2) and the RB1075 (120x5).
The only thing that I seem to use on the rotel pre is the multichannel input (analog in) from my Meridian 7.1...-
