    Comcast vs. Verizon

    Hello All,

Anyone use the Comcast triple play ($99) or Verizon (phone, dsl & cell)?
Trying to find the best back for my buck. Currently we use Verizon for DSL, phone, cell service approx. $220 a month. Comcast cable approx $130 a month.

I don't know if you handled this but I'd say go with Comcast unless Verizon FiOS is in your future. :T

Enjoy it for a year, because after a year watch your bill skyrocket! I triple bundled everything with comcast, but I upgraded the cable so it was more then 99 but make sure you read all the fine print about that bundled price. I am slowly getting rid of all my comcast products. I canceled my cable because I wanted the Sunday Ticket on Direct TV and my phone went from 33 to 45. And my internet went from 45 to 52. I then called customer service and they said they would leave my phone and internet the same price for 3 months but it would go up after that. I then told them I could bundle with a lifetime price on Qwest, which I really didn't want to do because I really don't care for Qwest, for right around 70 bucks and they came back with "are you threatening us" and I said "no I'm just trying to tell you that you are going to loose a long time customer" and they said "then this phone conversation is over." I have now singed up with Vonage for 24 bucks a month and am waiting for Verizon to get their land internet going in my area. Comcast also has a ton of little service charges and taxes. But hey Good Luck with your choice.

My suggestions is that just call back and speak to another CR. I had a similar problem about a month ago when my bill went up. I called and the first person I got was quite rude, but then called back and the guy said, "let's see what we can do"...and now my bill is actually cheaper than it was before....it just depends CR to CR....

Has anyone won a fight with Comcast?
            by Herbonbay
I like to think of myself as a person who doesn't let much get under my skin, life is simply too short. Most of my friends tend to think that I take this attitude to a maddening degree. People that don't get pissed off have a tendency to piss off those that do. Oh well. That being said, why do I turn...

            by Kevin P
If you have Comcast high speed internet service, you may have been having trouble accessing websites last night and this morning. The problem is with their DNS servers. Unfortunately Comcast put their DNS eggs in one basket, so when there is a problem, you lose most/all DNS resolution, making surfing...

            Verizon FIOS internet services
            by Azeke
I have just switched from Cox Cable Internet Service (15/2) to Verizon FIOS (30/5) for the same price. It's a beautiful thing, with consistent connections speeds no matter the time of day, downloads are quick, (depending on the server of course). Now, all I need to do is check out Xbox live and see...

            RSP-1570 and Verizon FIOS DVR
            by LaserVision
Yesterday, Verizon came and installed my FIOS TV service and setup my DVR's and STB's and it looked like everything was working fine until we attached the HDMI from the Home Media DVR (7216) to my new RSP-1570. When I fired up the system, there was no picture or sound from the DVR via the HDMI connection...

Comcast and a new Sony ?
            by Herbonbay
Last week I bought a new 42 inch Sony 3LCD projection TV. Untill today I've only had Comcasts basic analog service, so I've been playing around with the Sony's built in tuner. I found it interesting that the Sony found more than 80 digital channels, some of which seem to approach HD. Actually, the...
