    Harmony 525

I recently got this remote and struggle to find the way (if any) to change the function of the "activities" I want to change it to be able to watch dvd while the tv and amp is already on and not switch everything off first. Is this do-able? Unfortunately they don't offer support for my country.

You should be able to access the activity menu on the remote by pressing the silver "activites" button in the top of the remote.

That will show the activites on the menu screen, and if you press "watch DVD" it should just switch the inputs over and turn on the DVD player instead of turning everything off and on.

This is assuming it looks like my harmony 520...

The problem is that with all activities the remote assumes that all components are switched off, which it isn't, then it sends a power signal to the tv (to switch it on) and switch it off

Are you exclusive using the harmony remote to turn your equipment on and off? From what I can tell the remote stores what state your equipment should be in so that it can count the number of times it needs to send a signal to set inputs and turn equipment on.

If you are only using your harmony remote (IE: everything off and you press watch TV) it should turn everything on and if you change activites it should remember what is on and what is off and power up/down the appropriate units.

The only other problem I tend to have with universal remotes is with equipment of the same make and they recycled the code (Sony has done that to me).

If you have only been using the harmony remote to turn things on and off, then I would trade it in because it's should remember what is on and off when you change activites.

Great price on Harmony One Remote
            by Blindamood
I was looking into upgrading my Harmony 676 remote to a Harmony One, and found the best price ($199) recently from Crutchfield...but they were sold out. Went back today, and not only are they in stock, but on sale for $20 less. With free ship and no tax, I had to go for it. Will be a nice little upgrade...

            Hello all-

I am very new to all of this and think I want to get a programmable remote for my HT setup.

The dealer I bought my Fujitsu HD Plasma screen showed me a remote for about $500.00 and wants another $450 to program 5 devices. I don't mind spending the money for...

            New Harmony owner question
            by UCLAman
Just purchased my father a Harmony 659 remote (Father's Day). My question is - Does the LCD ever turn off? After I use it, the Harmony name/logo remain on the remote - is this normal? Does it drain the batteries faster?? Should I be concerned - Help!

            Thanks

            Replacement Remote
            by thyname
Do you guys know where to find replacement remotes for older Rotel models?

            I need a RR-969 remote for my RSX-1065 receiver.

Searched the web and found nothing for that particular model. There are replacement/ universal remotes for others, but not that specific model....

I picked up a Harmony One remote about 6 months ago - worked great, programming was easy, simple to use for everyone.

Until yesterday - my daughter stepped on it, right on the lcd portion ...

The lcd screen is normal in the bottom third, but the top two thirds are mostly...
