    Ram Question

Is it worthwhile to spend a few extra bucks for Micron brand Ram over more "generic" Samsung, Hitachi, Fujitsu etc RAM?

Just trying to finalize all my upgrade parts

It probably doesn't matter, I'm a Kingston Ram man myself, and there are some brands I would not purchase. Just ensure you try to utilize the same brand in all ram banks. I have heard some negative comments about some ram, and it's probably due to QA/QC, more than anything else.

BTW, Micron has very good quality products, if it's only a matter of a few bucks, I would use their Ram, just my humble thoughts.

    Good luck Jason,

    Azeke

Thanks Azeke, I was thinking along those lines... It'll end up costing about $10 more so what the hell right?!?!

Check out Crucial RAM too, it's made by Micron. I've had good luck with all the major brands: Crucial, Kingston, Corsair (in my fast box), etc.

Well I'm pretty limited to the "generic" Samsung/Hitachi/Fujitsu etc or Micron as the "upgrade" RAM from my supplier. As you said they make Crucial (and I think another one? )anyways so... That's likely the way I'll go :T

I would buy any of the following w/o reservation:

Crucial(though I had 3 sticks out of 5 fail) which is Micron ram anyway.
            Kingston
            Corsair
            Mushkin - what I use.

            All have impeccable warranties.

Exactly, although I wouldn't use that exact quote .

I have also heard negative feedback in reference to Corsair Ram chips, although I haven't tested it personally, I therefore stay away from their product.

Kevin, I didn't know Crucial Chips were made by Micron, hmmm. Is it a subsidiary?

              Peace and blessings,

              Azeke

Micron's the parent company and make the Crucial chips and as I mentioned above I think another company's too... but for the life of me, I can't remember which one

                      Jason,

                      Any reason for the switch?

                      Regards,

lower CAS latency and it's sold as a matched pair for dual channel

OCZ is good ram, used it many times in PCs.

My favorite still is Corsair XMS memory... that memory rocks...
