    Exhaust Fan

I am looking for an external fan, if there is one, to put in the side of my computer cabinet for additional cooling. I don't think the case has room for another fan, but it is inside the cabinet which has a closed back. Any advice would be great.

If your cabinet has a closed back, just cutting a hole in the cabinet should give you the airflow you need, especially if the PC is enclosed in a nook.

Yes it is enclosed now. A hole directly inline with the fan should work then?

Yep, a hole in line with the case/PSU fans should work.

Is the PC behind a closed door in front too? If it is, either keep it open or put a vent in it as well, so cool air can come in.

Does the PC have any vents or fans on the side of the case?

Closed door in front, and maybe one very small vent on the case side. Not significant though. I'll have to check.

Anyone Use A Cabinet Fan Or Cooler
            by greenhorn
Here's the deal. When I first got my Pre-Amp and Amp the Amp didn't go into the cabinet with the Pre-Amp, DVD Player, Cable Box...I had it outside as I didn't think it would fit well.

Wife really prefered that it would go in the cabinet, so I ditched the VCR, did some re-arranging and...

            Cooling Fan Recommendation?
            by Angioguy
Just thought someone out there might be able to suggest a good company that makes small clip-on or wall-mountable, ultra-quiet cooling fans for placement inside an enclosed rack system. I would prefer an AC powered unit, and if possible, one that activates by an internal thermostat or one that is...

            Audio Cabinet Cooling
            by Pookie007
I am installing cooling fans for my audio cabinet this weekend and welcome any suggestions on my planned installation.

My audio equipment is housed in built-in cabinets. Currently there is no ventilation so I leave the door open. There is also a shelf 1/2 way up. The plan is to install...

equipment in wall cabinet - how much ventilation?
            by basementjack
I just built an in wall cabinet for my components.

I'm concerned about ventilation - I don't want to bake my components!

It is a simple cabinet with room for 4 components (3 shelves, plus the bottom)
The front is open, the back is currently covered by black fabric....

Well, when cutting the stock fan exhaust plate out of the powersupply (to improve airflow), make sure the power supply is unplugged and FULLY discharged before doing so (Like wait an hour or so). The jarring action of the tin snips must have caused 2 caps (or something inside) to touch. The PS was turned...
