ASIO and 44.1 khz

Can someone please walk me through the process of getting my HTPC to output my audio at 44.1 khz instead of 48 khz. I have run an optical cable from my SPDIF out on my soundcard to my processor for signal testing purposes. I have installed ASIO4ALL v2 and that didn't work regardless of the settings I tried. I have also tried installing otachan's asio plugin for winamp. when configuring it, i select asio4all as my decise as it is the only choice. no matter what other settings i use, i can't seem to get my processor to receive a 44.1 signal, only 48 khz. Jon said that J.River offers 44.1 khz support, but I like Winamp and would like to keep using it if possible. Some HTPC specs:

P4 2.4
512 mb ram
maddog entertainer 7.1 sound card
radeon 9600 video card
windows xp home

Any help would be much appreciated!

It appears that no one knows how to do this or have cards that are already configured to support 44.1 KHz. I have been doing a lot of reading online and I think I know why my situation wasn't working. I am using the original drivers that came with my sound card. Apparently, there are updated drivers that can be had at VIAarena.com. I guess the use of ASIO4ALL along with the updated drivers will allow me to pass through bit perfect audio from my PC. I'll post my results after I have time to give it a try.

Ok, it worked. I got the latest drivers from VIAarena and after installing them and ASIO4ALL, I can output PCM at 44.1 KHz in the VIA control panel. Just thought I'd post my results in case anyone else out there was having similar issues.
