    Help with my LCD

Hopefully someone here can give me somne suggestions.

I'd like to use my computers LCD display as my HT display until I can afford a projector or ED Plasma. Is there anyway other than a fancy PCI or video card that I can simply use an RCA/S-Vid/Component cable output from my DVD player and have it converted to display correctly on my screen? The only source I will need to display is the one from my Denon DVD-2900.

    Thanks guys.

Can't you just hook up the 2900 to the LCD directly, via the DVI connection?

No DVI output on the 2900 junior.

Joelp that company looks like they might have something but there are no prices listed. I'll have to call them tomorrow.

I'm suprised that there aren't many products that solve this problem.

Hey Nicolas, a number of choices come to mind.

I'll assume that you have a db-15 monitor connector on the LCD.

There's a few devices out there that convert component to VGA.

I think they can be had for under 75

Also check the monitors setup menu. I use my dvd to my projector's 15 pin connector directly, as the projector has the ability to treat the input signal as component instead of pure RGB -if that's the case, check out parts express for a component to hd15 cable

You need a transcoder to convert the component into VGA...I had one for a brief time and it worked fine for what I used it for. This is the unit I had

              $$$

Wow! These things are expensive! :E

I can get a temporary 27" TV for these prices!

I was looking to spend $50 or $60. I think I'll just pick up a good 19" TV to use temporarily.

              Oh well, thanks guys!

                I ordered a Olevia 37" LCD display
                by Dean McManis
I figured that I'd be holding off on HT purchases for a while until I saw some of the black friday prices on LCD displays.

I got up at 6AM on Friday morning expecting that nobody would be out that early (OK I'm new to black friday shopping) and I saw that there were hundreds of people...

                Replacing LCD on Pronto
                by Kevin P
My friend dropped his Pronto and cracked the LCD display. As I recall someone posted a thread once ages ago with information on where you can order a replacement LCD and swap it out yourself. His Pronto is 2 years old and out of warranty. If anyone could lend some assistance I'd appreciate it!

                by LuckyLuke
                Hello,

Is there a button on the big remote to turn the lcd display complete off,
like the button "main" on the front of the C1?
I've allready updated the firmware on the C1 + remote

Universal player: Denon DVD2900 vs. DVD2200
                by nisoli
My 3 year old DVD player (Toshiba SD5109) died and I'm in the market for a new DVD player. I'm thinking about a universal player. I checked the specs for the Denon DVD2900 and the new DVD2200. The 2200 is significantly cheaper (MSRP of $ 629 vs. 999) and have pretty much all the features of the DVD2900,...
