Use TV instead of Receiver for Switching?

I've noticed that many of the new RPTV's have a host of inputs now, handling all the right stuff. My question is, given that I still want the audio to go through my Onkyo receiver for sound, which unit should switch between the components? Seems easier to hook the DVD, Cable Box, GameCube and Raw cable to the TV, and use it for switching.

My question is, will the sound still be of the same quality going thru the TV first, and then to the receiver? Right now, its sort of a pain, have to switch the TV from ANT/Cable to Video then switch the Onkyo to the correct video input. Would be a lot easier if whatever audio the TV was producing went to the receiver, so I'd never have to touch it.

    Thanks.

I'm comparing some entry level receivers noted below. I'm hoping someone has had any experience with any of these or have compared them. These are all pretty much within the $500-600 range (Canadian). Of course like most receivers today they all have auto set-up.

Wow, I was pretty impressed with this one. Not an Integra product, but Onkyo seems to be putting out a good one with this release:

    A/B speaker switching/switchbox?

    Hi all,

As some of you may have seen from previous posts over on the B&W speaker board, my 5.1 system consists of B&W 704's up front and 805's in the rear.

As my quickie comparison review stated, I like the 704s for certain kinds of music (rock, pop) and the 805's...
