My only suggestion is to see one before you buy...

This is an 800X600 unit. Does not have component video inputs. What sources will you be using? If only computer or S-Video, you're OK. Won't work so great with standard DVD players- S-Video doesn't support the full color resolution of the DVD format.

The 4805 has has component inputs, and a 6 segment four speed color wheel; will be less rainbow prone. If you can swing the dollars, I'd consider that first. Remember a good transcoder for component to RGB is about $250. Of course, the 4805 is more money.

But maybe for the money you want, this is your best bet. I'd consider checking Videogon, and look for a good used unit, to get a bit more bang for the buck. Good luck in your hunt.

Just my 2c as I am a new Infocus 4805 owner ...I could definitely see rainbows on the Infocus 4800, I can't really on the Infocus 4805 (well not as of yet, I have only watched about 8 hours of varied media in total!?) :B

....from my understanding the X2 is commercial use....

It doesn' t have the Faroudja chip in it....where as the X1 does.....as far as it not having component ...it's easy to fix////I bought an adaptor on the net that goes from VGA to component....and because it is 1080i compatible I am running that format through it...

          In 3 words...

          I love it....

          Just my 2 cents....

For the money...there is nothing better. Nothing....

I have a Da Lite high Power screen with that....

Got a nice rack to show me ?

so i should get the x1 since my main purpose is to watch movies with it ... and then get a S-Video to component adapter?

hmmm ... and since the x1 is approx. $100 USD cheaper ... i'd be saving myself some $$ ... even if the x2 is slightly brighter at 1600 lumens vs. 1100 lumens ...

            i await your thoughts ... thanks! 8)

                    Is component RGB?

Bam! , When you said component to vga do you mean the rgb cable? If so is it better to use the rgb to vga or rgb to s-video? I thought that I had read somewhere that dcdi technology was only hooked up to the s-video. Is this a correct? If you can let me know which is better to get and where you got yours I'd greatly appreciate it.
