Title says it all. I'm curious as to why watching sports on a flat panel LCD (except maybe for the top of the line models) looks a lot worse than watching on my entry level LCD front projector.
Why do LCD front projectors perform better than LCD flat panels re: motion lag?

Seems reasonable enough to me--but I'm an historian, not an engineer, so while I had considered this as a possible reason, I've never come across anything to support or refute it. Glad to know I'm not the only one to have thought it, at least.- Bottom

I believe that is the actual reason. Larger pixel = higher control voltage = lower propagation speed of signal through pixel + slower ability to slew between voltages.
I'll check at work this week. Several guys I work with will know for certain. I know when we do stuff with large single LC panels (square feet) their switching speed is far slower than display LCDs.- Bottom

by Bing FungWell I got my LCD monitor today and I have to say I'm disappointed.

by MitchellI saw an article in the NY Times that mentioned that LCD's are growing in popularity in relation to Plasma and tht the LCd's are getting better, bigger and cheaper. LCD research has increased dramatically and new plants are being built. They are expected to outsell plasmas as well.
