Title says it all. I'm curious as to why watching sports on a flat panel LCD (except maybe for the top of the line models) looks a lot worse than watching on my entry level LCD front projector.
Why do LCD front projectors perform better than LCD flat panels re: motion lag?

Seems reasonable enough to me--but I'm an historian, not an engineer, so while I had considered this as a possible reason, I've never come across anything to support or refute it. Glad to know I'm not the only one to have thought it, at least.- Bottom

I believe that is the actual reason. Larger pixel = higher control voltage = lower propagation speed of signal through pixel + slower ability to slew between voltages.
I'll check at work this week. Several guys I work with will know for certain. I know when we do stuff with large single LC panels (square feet) their switching speed is far slower than display LCDs.- Bottom
