    No definition with blacks

My TV listed in my sig. doesn't seem to have any definition with blacks and very dark colors. Any ideas what setting I need to change in order to remedy this? Thx.

Unfortunately that's a symptom inherent in LCD technology. If you want deeper blacks and better shadow detail you need to look at Panasonic or preferably Pioneer Kuro plasmas or at the very least addressable LED backlit LCD's.

The best you can do with your current display is to calibrate it using Digital Video Essentials or AVIA DVD's or even better get it calibrated by an ISF technician.

Oh, boo. I worked a second job for 4 months to buy this thing . So upgrading right now isn't really an option. I will look into this calibration software. Thanks.

Honestly even the Kuro's greyness on an all black screen bothers me. But what I have is good enough for now...and the kuro looks great when the screen has other things on it. So does my Sony. It's just as soon as the screen is mostly black it turns that greyish backlit black color and it bothers me lol.

I've found the black levels on the kuro to be exceptional. Here is my 5010 w/ an Apple TV.

A camera, passport, good music, good food and good company is all I need.

Yes they are much better then just about anything out there. But it still has that glowing effect when the screen is all black
