It's a friends. They say it just flashes a red LED but the screen does not respond. I do recall that some Sony's had a software issue a few years back that would cause similar behavior after a certain amount of hours of use. Can anyone confirm this or know otherwise?

HT room has a new overstock 1272Q CRT,
