Toshiba 42HP83 Turns Off after 30-60 Seconds

I've had this plasma for a couple of years with no problems at all. I recently relocated it into our bedroom and all of a sudden, the television shuts off after being on for 30-60 seconds. When it goes off, the red (on) light actually blinks twice every few seconds. It happens with both its own remote control and my Harmony Universal. I'd appreciate any help anyone can provide

Have you tried testing a different outlet? Perhaps there something faulty with the one you're plugging it in to?

Thank you Jason - yes I've tried several different outlets and even switched out surge protectors but problem still occurring. My next step is going to be to open it and check for cold solder joints on the power supply board. Any suggestions?

If it's still under warranty contact your reseller or the manufacturer and get her fixed

I would say use the warranty before opening it up.

Cold solder joints could be the problem, but they might be hard to locate.

          Good luck either way!

sounds like protection circuitry kicking in
if you did not buy extended warranty
id sell it on ebay - surprisingly you will still fetch a few hundred for it
if you did buy an extended warranty you may want to buy new anyways because it will be gone for at least a month
