    Sony LCD televisions??

I'm in the market for a small LCD. Anyone know the difference between the Sony BRAVIA digital processing and the WEGA processing? Which is better? Thanks in advance for any responses.

I believe the biggest difference is the inclusion of an ATSC tuner in the WEGA's. The scaling/processing is also slightly better if I recall.

You're right, I was thinking XBR. Grand Wega applies to their LCD-RPTV's

The XBR's typically have more inputs (often you'll find 3 HDMI on the XBR and only 2 on the Bravia). The current XBR's also have more DRC options in the menus (Sony's picture adjustments which most people think are better turned off anyway). Beyond that there is the obvious cosmetic difference.

I came pretty close to going with the non-XBR 46" 1080p Bravia. The XBR model was nice but the difference in price did not justify the extra HDMI input.

In the end I went with one of the new 46" 1080p Sharp LCD's. I thought it produced better blacks than the Sony and it's softer image performed better on SD viewing.

Look into Sharp. They seem to be very good as the reviews say. I have 2 & they seem to work well. I gave up on Sony because they dod not seem to stand behing the products as well. Good luck.

I just had my lamp fail on a Sony KF 42WE610 at 11 mos, so it's still under warranty and they're sending a replacement.

I figure my average daily use is around 4 hours on the days we do watch TV, which is not everyday, so the most hours this could have is 1400 and likely closer to 1000....

For those who were asking, here's a "hard" copy of the review. This PJ is one that I've been looking at for a while, and finding good stuff.

              DLP vs LCD
              by DSGCobra
I am currently in the market for a widscreen tv. I have narrowed it down to 2 now, the 50 Sony Grand Wega LCD RP and the 50 Samsung DLP RP (HLM507W). I have seen both and they both look really good, picture quality is impressive on both. Both are around the same price. I like the DLP better than the...

Hope this isn't considered spamming but I thought I'd put this here where it might generate more discussion than my original post did.

I spent about an hour "auditioning" the Sony earlier today. I was in a light controlled room and was left to my own devices (the sales guy installed...
