I've decided I'm in the wrong line of work. After 10 years in IT, with a focus on networking, I may be forced to go into television repair just to spare myself the pain as well as to save others the $$ required just to have a TV looked at.
My Sharp Aquos 32" LCD TV died (I'll never own another Sharp) a couple of months after the warranty ended. When I say died, I actually mean it has cancer and is dying a slow and painful (for us) death. As long as it stays powered on, it's fine. If you power it off, and later decide you'd really like to watch the football game that's coming on... well, that's where the problems start. You press power, and the green light comes on, then goes off with a click, then comes on, then goes off, and then the power light blinks red. I've found that most of the time this can be remedied by pulling the plug as soon as the green light goes off, then plugging it in, and continuing that game until the screen lights up.
Has anyone seen this, or can anyone suggest a shop in the NW Atlanta area that might look at it for less than $150. I'm not so overwhelmed by the picture quality that I'd be willing to spend a ton fixing it, given that TV prices are dropping like crazy.
