I'm 14 and plan to go to a 4-year college. My projector seems like it will need a bulb in a while, but I'd rather upgrade my projector than shell 350 out for a 100:1 contrast projector with an s-video connector. Next summer I'll be able to get a "real" job" and will have a decent amount of cash flow. I'd be looking at getting a projector for around 1000 dollars, preferrably used with a replacement bulb with no hours or a low-hour projector. What do you think I'll be able to get for 1000 dollars by say, next July? My requirements are LCD, 600:1 contrast(perferably higher), good bulb life, an eco-mode(longer bulb life), 1080i or 720p, and good lumen rating (600 or more). Is this too much to ask for in a 1000 dollar projector?
Onto another part, should I get a projector when I get a job in the first place? I'm mainly asking this to college students... do you have good use out of your projector or do you not have time to watch it? I'm wondering if I should just save money and use it to treat myself to completing 4 years of college.
Does anyone think I can get a used Z4 with low bulb hours used on ebay for around 1000 next summer? I'd be willing to go up if nesseccary.
