I am putting a front projector in a bright 25' by 21' room. big window without drapes in front. The salesmen is insisting that the infocus 777 is the only way to go for brightness to prevent curtains, darkening, etc. I watch alot of HD television sports, etc. and some movies. I don't want spend $15K for a projector. any thoughts?

I believe the Infocus 777 is their 3 chip dlp model and all 3 chip dlps are expensive. They have the 7205 single chip dlp that many owners love for its brightness, so maybe that will be of interest to you. Check out Projector Central for info on this and other high brightness projectors. They usually show mfgr suggested list prices plus feature a calculator to help you decide on position of your PJ for various screen sizes.- Bottom

No matter how bright the projector is, if ambient light hits the screen, you're going to get a washed out image.
If that isn't an issue, go for a higher-lumens PJ. Otherwise, get some blinds and/or drapes for that window, or only watch the PJ at night.- Bottom

yea, regardless of how expensive the Front projector is, you will not like it with alot of ambient light in the room. I think he's just trying to sell you the most expensive projector.- Bottom
